Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering & Commercial Support
- Decision Support: Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to evaluate the financial impact of commercial decisions, including product launches, pricing changes, and promotional spend.
- Promotional Effectiveness: Develop promotional approval frameworks and perform post-promotion ROI analysis to optimize trade spend efficiency.
- Sales Strategy Collaboration: Work with Sales Strategy to develop demand planning expectations and financial models for new product introductions.
Financial Planning, Forecasting & FP&A
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting cycles for Revenue, Trade, COGS, and SG&A.
- Latest Estimates (LE): Manage the monthly review and build of the Latest Estimate, ensuring accuracy in financial projections.
- Risk & Opportunity (R&O): Proactively identify and quantify financial Risks and Opportunities to help the commercial teams pivot strategy as needed.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Variance Analysis: Track KPIs and provide weekly/monthly commentary on variances between actual performance versus Budget, Forecast, and prior year.
- Business Reviews: Lead the financial portion of Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), providing deep-dive analysis and actionable commentary for stakeholders.
- Innovation Tracking: Monitor and assess the health and financial performance of new product innovations throughout their lifecycle.
Profitability & Margin Optimization
- Profitability Analysis: Analyze customer and product-level profitability to identify “value leaks” and recommend margin-improvement strategies.
- Customer Financial Management: Develop and maintain customer financial scorecards and regular reports comparing sell-in performance against budget.
Operational Excellence
- Ad Hoc Support: Execute various position-related projects and financial analyses as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education in Business, Commerce or related field
- Must have a CPA Designation or MBA (Finance or Strategic Management Focus)
- Minimum 5 years of related experience preferably within a consumer packaged goods environment
- Must be highly conversant with MS Excel and be able to develop, implement, automate and maintain reports by using complex formulae (v-lookup, sum-if, formula in Pivot-table etc) – VBA and Macros considered an asset
- Demonstrate exceptionally strong analytical performance
- Strong written, communication, selling and presentation skills; solid business analysis skills
- Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
