Accountabilities:
- Manage and maintain an assigned portfolio of accounts
- Conduct Customer Credit checks and lead Credit judication process, including review of Customer Financials, Work with external resources and platforms, banks, etc. on validating references
- Work with AR Manager and Director, AR & Trade Spend on Automation and Process Optimization
- Work with the AR Manager in providing the findings and recommendations of the Credit searches and onboarding new customers to the Director, AR and Trade Spend and routing the approvals through the assigned hierarchy.
- Periodic review of assigned Credit Limits and terms, to ensure that healthy growth while minimizing Credit exposure, is achieved.
- Monitor, investigate, analyze and resolve customer deductions and program allowances, as well as Post Audit Claims
- Investigate and resolve billing issues
- Execute all related month end procedures
- Maintain daily communication on accounts internally with the AR Manager, Director – AR and Trade Spend, and Sales representatives
- Keep management informed as to the status of collections efforts and the financial condition of customers and escalate where necessary
- Monitor customer orders and customer balances to maintain good credit standing
- Support internal audit of customer program performance as required
- Support external auditor and bank queries as required
Experience & Skillset:
- Post-Secondary Education in Accounting related field
- CCP Designation, or Credit Certification would be an asset
- 5+ years of dedicated Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections and Deduction management
- Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience would be an asset
- Experience with Wal-Mart accounts and/or Retail Link software would be an asset
- Solid understanding of A/R sub ledger
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite with advanced Excel Skills
- Experience working with large ERP and/or CRM systems is an asset (Microsoft Dynamics 365, High Radius)
- Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
- Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize
