Quality Systems Manager

As part of the Management Team, you will play a key role in the execution of business strategy and corporate initiatives. You will have full responsibility to manage the day to day operations related to the development of the Club Channel and leadership of the team.

Accountabilities: 

  • Mentor and manage the Quality Assurance team while supporting other areas in Operations and Legal
  • Keep track of and investigate external and internal non-conformances and complaints, and use data to develop procedures and practices to continually improve product quality and system robustness
  • Develop performance management and KPIs for co-packers and suppliers
  • Ensure the stability program meets the requirements of each product and market
  • Ensure that all pertinent internal and governmental regulations impacting the Quality Systems are met (including GMP, cGMP and NHP)
  • Establishment of standard operating procedures and quality standards for finished goods, packaging materials, ingredients and vendors
  • Communicate with co-packers as required to maximize production efficiencies related to sampling and testing
  • Lead, coach, and train the team consistent with company policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Audit New and Existing co-packers and laboratories to ensure GMP/ cGMP compliance
  • Represent QA at S & OP (Watchlist) Meetings, New Products Launch Meetings, New and Existing Supplier Meetings and other meetings as required
  • Maintain proficiency at performing all QA Specialist and QA Technologist responsibilities in order to act as a backup in case of absence
  • Other role related duties as assigned

Experience & Skillset:

  • Post-Secondary education in a science based program that can be directly applied to the food, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical manufacturing arena
  • 6 years of experience in quality assurance
  • Manufacturing experience would be an asset
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and motivate
  • Laboratory experience and/or theoretical knowledge of laboratory testing theory is required
  • Experience in writing standard operating procedures and/or quality manuals and quality audits
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft Access, Excel and Word
  • Good problem solving and statistical analysis skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Have a process oriented thinking approach with good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of ISO guidelines
