Quality Assurance Technician – Product Release

Accountabilities: 

  • Monitor and track finished product samples which are sent to third party labs for active component and microbiological testing
  • Work closely with Logistics, Customer Service and/or Inventory Planners to determine what SKU’s or lot codes of finished product require rush testing
  • Determine estimated due dates and follow-up with lab and/or co-packers to ensure timely results; request retests if required
  • Upon receipt of CofAs and lab results for each product/lot code – review all results and relevant release documents to determine that specifications are met; contact appropriate person(s) to resolve any deviations or issues
  • Ensure required products are ID tested and that results are documented; communicate deviations to required personnel and/or co-mans’
  • Generate deviations/CAPAs for any product/lot code that does not meet Iovate specifications.  Liaise with internal departments, third party labs and/or manufacturers to determine root cause and appropriate CAPAs.
  • Communicate RELEASE, REWORK, RETURN TO VENDOR or SCRAP of finished product SKUs/lots status to Iovate distribution center and other required personnel
  • Assess status of products in electronic inventory system (D365) to ensure product SKUs/lots are released
  • Log CofAs into appropriate tracker file
  • Review Accuristix daily receiving reports for Canadian warehouse and order inspection samples of newly received SKUs/lots
  • Request products that require further evaluations before release from Iovate distribution center; i.e. for ID Testing of Canadian SKU’s or for further testing of active component and/or microbiological testing
  • Assess required release documentation for newly received SKUs/lots in all warehouses and communicate requirements of products to relevant co-mans
  • Back up for External Auditing where assigned
  • Lead GMP training on behalf of QA team for new employees, during annual company-wide refreshers and annual warehouse refreshers
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Skillset:

  • Post-Secondary Education in related field
  • Up to 3 years of related experience preferably within a consumer packaged goods environment
  • Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
