As part of the Management Team, you will play a key role in the execution of business strategy and corporate initiatives. You will have full responsibility to manage the day to day operations related to the development of the Club Channel and leadership of the team.

Accountabilities: 

  • Assists in the  development, implementation, and achievement of departmental objectives
  • Understands departmental needs and business requirements to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Develop and manage material cost reduction program
  • Analyze market and delivery systems throughout the supply chain in order to assess present and future material availability while optimizing costs
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures with the purchasing team
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and material costs
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
  • Review, evaluate and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids
  • Develop innovative means for disposal of surplus materials in the most cost effective manner
  • Together with the purchasing team, locate vendors of materials/supplies and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Represent Iovate in negotiating and formulating policies with suppliers
  • Manage and negotiate third party contracts with vendors
  • Lead, coach, and train the team consistent with company policies, guidelines, and standards
  • Challenges the status quo and looks for innovative ways to continually improve processes
  • Assists in setting Budget and Headcount Budget for the following year and ensuring compliance
  • Other role related duties as assigned

Experience & Skillset:

  • Post-Secondary Education in business/dairy or related field
  • 5+ years of purchasing/procurement and/or management experience preferably within a consumer packaged goods environment
  • Experience in Procurement in one or more of Whey, Skim Milk, or Milk Powder
  • Solid understanding of whey protein markets and key drivers
  • CPP (Certified Professional Purchaser) designation
  • Able to build solid working relationships with all departments and numerous outside contacts
  • Previous experience with cost reduction
  • Previous experience with contract negotiations
  • Must be able to travel internationally
  • Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
  • Leadership and coaching skills; outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
