Employment Terms: Full Time Role

As part of the Human Resources Team, you will play a key role in the execution of several China-specific human resources responsibilities. This role will work very closely with our parent company Xi Wang in China therefore a thorough understanding how Xi Wang operates is essential. Also, a solid local understanding of the Chinese business practices and culture is required. This role will also work cross functionally with a team located in Oakville that supports the Xi Wang team in China.

Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with Human Resources Team to align corporate policies and procedures with Xi Wang’s corporate policies and procedures where applicable
  • Instrumental in maintaining the integrity and continuity of all human resources data between Canada and China
  • Act as a liaison between the senior management of both companies with respect to human resources related matters
  • Work with subsidiary and parent company to develop and ensure continuous process improvements around human resources practices, policies and procedures
  • Problem Solving and Reporting:
    • Available to speak with Chinese partners during business hours in China (after hours in Canada)
    • Make recommendations to streamline human resources practices, policies and procedures between the two companies
  • Maintain Employees Personnel Files, ensuring all records are filed, accurate and complete
  • Administer and become accountable for employee Training Files (especially for newly hired staff in Beijing Iovate China)
  • Assist with recruitment activities including posting jobs, interviewing, reference checks, drafting offer packages, etc.
  • Participate in planning and executing corporate and charitable events
  • This includes registration, tracking of costs, and ensuring all documentation is compliant with our Training SOP
  • Assist with other HR-related projects as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education relating to Human Resources
  • Experience using an HRIS system – Ceridian, ADP, PeopleSoft, etc.
  • Prior experience within a GMP controlled environment would be considered an asset
  • Strong public speaking, communication and interpersonal skills
  • High energy level with a comfort level of working with employees of all levels (Department Managers, QA team, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment

Core Competencies:

  • Post-Secondary Education in HR, Payroll, Benefit Administration or related field
  • Knowledge of the Chinese and Xiwang business practices and culture
  • Experience within an HR team dealing with employee relations an asset
  • Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
